Toromont Cat introduces Anaconda screening products

Aug 12, 2023

This spring, Toromont Crushing Division showed off its new line of Anaconda screening products at events throughout Eastern Canada.

The events generated a significant buzz with hundreds of attendees who saw the Anaconda live demonstrations throughout Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes. Anaconda has the potential to be a major player in the industry.

Known for its crushing and screening equipment, Anaconda equipment rounds out Toromont’s already robust aggregate equipment line.

Anaconda, a McLanahan company, was established in 2005 and now offers a diverse range of material handling equipment, including screeners, crushers and scalpers, as well as feeding and mobile conveyors.

While Toromont Crushing Division offers a wide selection of Metso equipment, the recent addition of Anaconda equipment helps complete their crushing and screening product line by offering equipment that caters to smaller scale operations.

“The Metso line is great for a big aggregate producer type line,” said Eric Rennie, Crushing & Paving Products Manager at Toromont Cat.

Rennie adds the Anaconda lineup will allow Toromont to offer trommels and some of the smaller screens for a full product range.

At this time, Toromont Crushing Division is carrying many Anaconda products including trommels, tracked scalpers, screeners, tracked conveyors, wheeled conveyors and feeders. All models are equipped with Caterpillar engines.

Rob Hodgson, Crushing Specialist for Toromont Cat, notes the engines make Anaconda products a natural fit for the company.

“Our service technicians are already trained on the Caterpillar engines,” he said. “It’s all about serviceability, and at Toromont Cat, we’ve got all those white service trucks on the road every day. And we’re great at what we do.”

Rennie added the Caterpillar engines create an advantage for the customer, since Toromont Cat technicians can address all issues. “Some of the challenges with other machines that are out there is you might get a JCB engine or a Kubota engine or whatever,” he said.

“So, you have to bring in different dealers to service different parts of the equipment. With us, we can service with one truck and one tech. So that’s a big advantage that we have.”

It’s a vision shared by Anaconda, whose philosophy has always been to “make life easy” for its end users by offering equipment that’s reliable and simple to operate.

Rennie sees Anaconda’s operator-friendly design as a major plus for customers.
